I build apps that people actually use and that stick around. Based in San Francisco, working onsite or remotely.

AI companions with eight different personalities you can talk to. They're designed to feel real and useful, not like those flashy demos that look cool but aren't actually helpful. Built the iOS app in SwiftUI with modern async patterns. Also made a React/Next.js web version for user requested features not compatible with the App Stores, anonymous users via crypto payments included. Designed the Express/NodeJS server to handle real time and async voice streams for human-many to AI-many groups chats efficiently at scale.

Platform iOS + Web + Backend
Companions 8
Tech SwiftUI + Next.js + Express + NodeJs

Technical Highlights

  • The iOS app uses Swift async/await everywhere
  • Streams LLM responses and voice in real-time and async style from the server and s3
  • iOS and web (React/Next.js) clients.
  • NodeJS backend ties it all together

Call Me Maybe

AI phone game where the nefarious agents role play choose your adventure games in real-time. Backend handles some pretty complex stuff: voice routing with WebSockets, recursive dialog patterns driven by the LLM that shift based on what you say. Wild to build, honestly.

Woody

Stable Diffusion that runs entirely on your iPhone. Nothing in the cloud; all on-device. Managed to get it down to 30 seconds per image with GPU acceleration and custom fixes to Apple's CoreML implementation. That became the performance benchmark for local AI generation.

Cloak

ConsenSys Team Lead

Privacy-first decentralized social network. Native app layer meets decentralized wallet with peer to peer payments and premium influencer content before Apple thought it'd be cool to make users type in a url in a random crypto wallet WebView for decentralized content... Your data actually stayed private here (not just the marketing version of "private"). Coded almost all the iOS app and NodeJS server.

Role Team Lead
Focus Privacy & Security
Type Decentralized

Key Innovations

  • Custom E2E encryption patterns enabled seamless UX considering complex modern social database architectural modeling
  • Solving real privacy in Web3 (way harder than it sounds)
  • Platform architecture built from zero
  • Team leadership and technical direction

MetaMask

ConsenSys · Sr. Software Engineer · 2016 - 2022

The world's most popular crypto wallet with over 100M users. I built the original iOS wallet from the ground up and figured out how Web3 SDKs should work on mobile. This was early days; I was writing crypto security code before secure enclaves even existed and pioneering native universal app to app deep linking for attestations and payment requests. Released a bunch of open-source libraries along the way that other Web3 and iOS projects ended up using.

Impact Industry Standard

Key Contributions

  • Conceived and built initial iOS wallet POCs, built from nothing
  • Patterns for how Web3 SDKs should work on mobile
  • Secure crypto code for iOS (before hardware enclaves were around)
  • Open-source libraries that got picked up across Web3

Chrome Extension

Also worked on the Chrome extension that became the standard way people interact with Web3. Helped build out core functionality, security features, and the APIs that thousands of dapps now rely on. The extension hit 100M+ users and basically defined what a browser-based crypto wallet should be.

Brightwheel

Brightwheel · Founding Engineer · 2014 - 2016

All-in-one platform for childcare providers and parents. I built the proof-of-concept and MVP that helped us raise seed funding, then led development of the backend and iOS app from zero to launch. Did the technical hiring as we scaled through Series A. These days it serves thousands of childcare centers across the country, one of Silicon Valleys most notable unicorns.

Role 0-to-1

Key Achievements

  • MVP that secured our seed round
  • Backend and iOS app, both from scratch
  • Engineering team hiring and growth
  • Technical foundation still running the platform today

50 Cubes

Software Engineer · 2012 - 2014

Social mobile app that won awards for user experience. Worked on making the whole thing feel smooth and intuitive, which was harder back then when mobile UX patterns weren't as established.

Flash games back when Facebook gaming was huge. Rewrote the rendering algorithms to make games run way faster, which ended up being a key reason EA acquired the company. Sometimes the boring technical stuff matters more than the flashy features.
